Ok a guy I know has a lincoln sa 200 he wants to sell me for basically scrap. I was wanting to find out the wait of the beast before Imade a offer. He's gonna haul it to the scrapyard if I don't buy it so I offered him 20 bucks over the scrap yard. Also how do I know if its a shorthood. Its been sitting for a few years and he said the last time he used it that it would arc but would'nt high idle. Reply:If it's a shorthood the commutator brushes and the exciter brushes are outside of the body. (hood) Both have covers. If it's not the shorthood only the exciter brushes are outside of the hood. There are many more "tells" but that is the simplest to explain. Reply:Parts are quite easy to get online, and whole organ donor SAs are available fairly often in the Carolinas for cheap. I'd say yes instantly at scrap price, especially for one that runs and welds.
Reply:I believe they weigh @ 1350lbs. from what I've read here. That's just the welder not a trailer too.
