I always Wanted A Nibbler.....

I always liked these little wonders for doing sheet metal work, but I could never justify the price. I was at my favorite used tool store (http://used-tools.com/ for us New England guys) and found this like new nibbler for a whole 30 bucks.It is a real USA made Black&Decker before DeWalt bastardized the brand.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:nice find, I have been wanting one myself, just dont want to pop for the bucks for one that would do the gauge I would like to nibble.  What gauge will that one go up to?

Reply:Just make sure to start and stop it in air. I had a nibbler and broke two dies at 50 bucks each on one job in a hard to manipulate spot. I inadvertently started right on the edge of the hole and broke one, the the trigger slipped out of my finger and it stopped on the sheet edge and broke another. It was a tooll I borrowed from my father. I ordered the replacement part, then after i broke the other found that it was cheaper to buy the whole tool on ebay. So now I have one sitting in the tool box with no die. I think I leave it there to remind me not to buy that tool again.

Reply:I have a nibbler but I've never liked it. It always seems one of my other tools does a better job no matter the situation. Perhaps if I was cutting out many of the same shapes using a buck of some sort. It just never seems to be the right tool to use.
Reply:I am loving the little body saw I picked up not real long ago. Very nice little saw!
Reply:Body saws are ok, if you know how to use one. Forget the blades, and use a cut down hacksaw blade it needs to have the back cut at a long taper as well, cut real nice and cheaper than the stock ones.If you really want a proper panel saw, see if you can get a Cengar saw. The JP901 is the one I have, not cheap but the best never http://www.cengar.com/
