Tig Weld Newbie

Brand new to Tig welding. Started out running some beads on aluminum. I am having trouble with penetration to shallow vs blowout. Does this come with  seat time?Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Reply:It takes time and observation to start understanding what happens and the remedies. If you have a foot pedal you can use it to your advantage. You also should practice feeding the wire through your fingers for an endless supply on a weld. Feeding the rod generously will take heat out of the puddle so in conjunction with pedal work you control the penetration and heat buildup. I basically never let the heat get ahead of me.
