anyone have any experience with this torch? I just got one and it is arching between the work piece and the cup...melting the composite material on the cup. Not impressed thus far...

Reply:I have one and it works great, but the black plastic on the outer nozzle that screws on is starting to melt away, right at the end that is closest to the arc. It's cheap plastic I think. Not able to withstand the heat. Can't find any replacements on line. Had to go to my local Fastenal and had them order a replacement from a Trafimet USA dealer. The Trafimet dealer is Florida Power and Welding. 1-800-535-1185. You need the Trafimet part number. The part number for that piece is PC0115. You can't order directly from the dealer. You have to go through a company like Fastenal. If you call Florida Power and Welding, they will tell you what companies you can order through. http://www.weldking.com/pdf/A81.pdf

Reply:I have the P-81 (machine torch) uses the same parts and have had no problems with it. However it is on a CNC table and does not touch the metal when cutting. You will find replacement parts on Ebay for both the short and long tips at a good price. Mine had a wiring problem it had the trigger switch wires both connected to the nozzel retaining cap ring this made the torch fire all the time when machine turned on. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170714156893...84.m1423.l2649
Reply:I don't know what the black material on the outer nozzle is made of, but it sure isn't heat proof. That's the only thing about this unit so far that I don't like. Considering the price I paid for it, I guess you get what you pay for LOL! I found this to be the cheapest replacements that I've ordered.
