I am a 100% self taught welder. In the last 5yrs I have been doing more and more TIG work. I'm getting pretty dang good at it now and wanting to learn more. A year or so ago I bought my Sycrowave 350LX. I love the machine, but I would like to know a little more about how to use the Pulse option on it. I have used it many times on out of position or very thin aluminum. I just don't really have any idea what I should really use for starting points. Any input would be apprciated! Also I haven't messed with the crater fill or any of those options at all. Anyone use them?thanks again guys!-DoogieMiller 350PMiller Trailblazer 325 EFI w/ Excel PowerLincoln LN25 suitcase welderXMT 304/22a feederMiller Syncrowave 350LXMiller EconotigHobart Handler 140(2) Uni-Hydro 42-14Hypertherm 65 plasmaWEBB Gap bed lathe
Reply:I'll take a stab.I think you would get more responses with more specific questions. That being said, the pulse is about heat input. For example, I use pulse on thin stainless, like 18 gauge, to keep from melting through it. It keeps the stainless from going black from the heat. While I have a few 250 syncrowaves available, I use the dynasty 280 and 350. It has a bit more range on the pulsing options.Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
Reply:Thanks for your reply. I do realize this. I was referring to what everyone was using for background amps, hz, and such in specific applications.
Reply:I use 40 and 40 on stainless, pulsing anywhere between 1 and 33 hrz. It varies widely on Aluminum. Jody on Welding Tips like 33/33/33. Not a bad place to start.Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler
