Going to look at an older Lincoln Weldanpower 225. Seems to be in decent shape. He said it starts right up and the generator part does work well. I can't remember if he said it welded or not. I believe it does but not 100% sure. It looks in decent shape but that is just from a picture online. I am also not sure what the hours are either. He's asking $500 for it and its been for sale for 2 weeks. I think I'm going to offer him $400. You guys think its a good deal or should I hold off and get something newer? Its 3 O'clock now and I'm going to look at it @ 5. Thanks for the help
Reply:if it welds. take leads if necessary and test it then its worth $500 easy. that machine also has a CV setting for running wire feeders which is a real nice feature. if it doesn't weld then its probably not worth too much if you can't figure out why because parts and repairs will cost more than a newer (used) working welder...Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Well, I just got back from looking at the welder. It was a little beat up and it had been repainted and there was bondo all over the cover. It didn't weld but the generator did work. I decided to pass. I'd like to find something a little newer. Thank you for the help
Reply:You don't really need newer but better cared for. These r great machines for their size.. wise choice being it didn't weldTiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.
