I had posted my new welder i bought in the wrong forum so i thought i ask in here and see what i come up with... I just got this last week and here is the link with PICTURES of it to help----http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=58985I read somthing about the blue tint red faces is that what i have or what (you'll havto see the pictures on the other forum) i know that the farmer painted the outside but everything under the hood is light blue and shows no signs of being gray.Second i had to put a new 110 plug on it cause it had a two prong vintage twist lock on it, which wires go to the netural and which to the postive?  I have a red one that comes from the fine control and goes with a red one that runs into the gen they were togather on the other plug.   The other two are black and one looks like it has or had a red stripe on it and they both go down to the gen.the numbers on it are---sa-200-F-162code 5604serial A-565689
Reply:also i was just wondering can i tig weld with this machine?
Reply:Scroll down here:http://www.billswelderrepair.com/SA200schematics.html until you find "Lincoln SA-200 with R-57 Idler" schematics.Go here for your operators Manual: https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=h...m208.pdf&pli=1Your '67 is not a blue tint redface, those were made in the late '50s. That is a Candy automotive color, not Miller, not Lincoln.Yes you can TIG (GTAW) with this machine with the appropriate hardware. DC only. So you can't do aluminum which is an AC TIG process.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.                                         -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches

Reply:ok well how do i know which side is postive and which is netural...in the diagram above you have the two red wires going into the left side and a black and N or brown wire on the left?
Reply:Regardless of which side is which, both black to one side, both red to the other. It'll work either side.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.                                         -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches
Reply:i no itl work ethier side but i dont want to burn anything up when im using it in it....also when i try it out it wont idle up when i start grinding but will when welding.
Reply:R-57 vacuum idler will not go to high idle with a grinder, that's why there is a pin on a chain, to pin it to high idle when grinding. A Grind Eze eliminates the problem but are obsolete and hard to come by. Upgrading to electric idle is the way to go, but is expensive. Most of us just live with it.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.                                         -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches
Reply:I was wondering what that pin was for, it didnt look like somone just put it on there.... so the plug cant be wired wrong then? i just dont want to ever plug somthing in and it burn i up....
Reply:Another thing that's not been mentioned...that plug is 125volts DC power at high idle. It's not AC. Anything with variable speed will eventually burn up anyway, unless it says it is specifically DC. You can run AC grinders, but might lose a switch on the grinder occasionally. Might not.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.                                         -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches
