So, a few months ago I picked up a very clean Miller 375 extreme plasma cutter. It has worked just fine till I recently changed the tip. Now it has started failing to turn off occasionally and even torches off during the cool down at random. I usually have to rap the torch against something to get it to turn off. Is there a possibility of messing something up when changing consumables? It is cutting just fine and I haven't noticed any performance issues other than not shutting off reliably.
Reply:It sounds like a minor problem in the power supply input area. Ensure that the voltage select switch is in the right location. Try unplugging the unit and switch back and forth between the two positions. If this doesn’t work, test your terminal lug connections.welding protective clothing
Reply:Since "rapping the torch against something"  stops it when it sticks on....I suggest that you gave a problem in the torch itself.....a sticking trigger switch or an intermittent short to the trigge switch wiring.Jim Colt   Hypertherm Originally Posted by AKmudSo, a few months ago I picked up a very clean Miller 375 extreme plasma cutter.
