Hi All, Could somebody please post some dimensions for this device? I would like to make one. Call me cheap if you like but my last order from this outfit did not go too well. Tweco 211i complete with pedal and TIG kit"Victor Style" Oxy/Acetylene outfitUNIWELD Air/Acetylene Kit
Reply:Alright, I did some digging in the shed and found some supplies. I think the smaller one would work well since the OD is about the same as the OD of the heating tip on my torch. Would anybody happen to have the ID of the main tube or the air injection holes? I could also use the spacing between the tip and the air injection holes but I do not think that is too important. I think they just need to be far enough apart to allow proper mixing. What's the worst that could happen... Reply:I made a diffuser with the small coupler about a week ago but was having trouble with the acetylene catching fire and flaming out of the holes I drilled into the sides. I noted my regulator backed off and was only puffing out about 1 psi when I was done fooling around so I will try again later. Do these things have an orifice plate in them? Does anybody on here have one?Been occupied by stripping the paint off the bottle and making it respectable looking enough to send it off for a pressure test...only 1 date on the bottle and it is from 1960. Should be empty by about 2070 at this rate. SteveTweco 211i complete with pedal and TIG kit"Victor Style" Oxy/Acetylene outfitUNIWELD Air/Acetylene Kit
Reply:Mine was advertised as a tip for straight acet (I used it for soldering copper tubing) using whatever oxy/acet tip that happens to be on the torch. For me, usually the cutting torch.Bought mine many years ago from (I think) Brookstone for like 6 or 7 bucks.-corne-What is the sound of one knee jerking? |
