I am getting an ellis 1800 tomorrow. Getting it for 2620 new. I was torn between the bailiegh 210 and the 1600 ellis. My supplier has had one in the store for to long and is cutting me a screaming deal on it. Only thing that I am worried about is that it will not wet cut. Anyone cut much aluminum with this? Any reviews on it. Problems? The baileigh is a gear head and a wet cut 9" at a 45. That is some superior cutting capacity!!! So I think that I am going to pull the trigger on it. Anyone have a yay or a nay? I cut all kinds of materials. I do sculpture, fabrication, and work for machinist. So all kinds of metal is what I am getting at. How does it do with stainless?
Reply:Ellis makes a good saw.  That is a good deal on an 1800.  I think I payed pretty close to that for my 1600.  Don't worry about the dry cut only.  Good blades will last a long time.My name's not Jim....
Reply:Stainless ,run low speed ,good bi-metal blade. Aluminum high speed coarse blade. I would get a variety of blades and match them to material and thickness. A good wax or paste cutting lube applied to the material in the cut area will help and not mess up tracking. Ellis sells an air system to help clear chips but could easily be made yourself.
