i've been reading up alot on this, i have almost everything to do it, except a solution. I forget what i read as far as water and acid content and what not, but i haven't been steered wrong on anything i've read on this forum so far so i figured i would askIf you electro polish stainless, what do you use to do it?Thanks!
Reply:Because I needed to use the machine right away, I purchased just a small one. Ran like $500-600 I think. For the solution, you can buy it pretty cheap from the welding store. Seems to work good. My only complaint is after awhile, between the acid and rubbing the material on the stainless, it tears a hole in the "wand sock" pretty easily. Need to find a heavier duty material.Craig MontgomeryM&L Fabrication, LLChttps://www.facebook.com/pages/ML-Fa...8228829?ref=hl
Reply:we use PowerClean 500 in our electropolisher tanks its a mixture of phosphoric and sulfuric acid A 200 amp CV power supply and 1/8 copper plates as the cathodes and hand the part in the middle of the 2 plates run it at around 8.50 on the voltage to achieve a milspec electro polish for 60 seconds removes 0.001 a minute from the part with the solution kept between 140-160 degree F Here are some pics of the setup first tank is the polish tank (50Gallons) second tank is the rinse and solution catch tank third tank is a fresh Dionized water bath(constant flowing) and the fourth is a soap bathhave any ?s let me know Wes Attached ImagesLast edited by WeldorWes; 04-04-2013 at 10:22 PM.Miller Xmt 350Lincoln Ln-25Ahp 200xSmith Gas Mixer AR/HTig is my Kung FuThrowing down dimes and weaving aboutInstagram http://instagram.com/[email protected] |
