I am hooking up a tig welder to my arc welder - a lincoln invertec 350vs pro.I bought a tig torch kit from weld supply on the recommendation of people on here.It came with an adapter like this http://www.cometsupply.com/mp/WELDCR...FQuMaQodggwAhQ that you would normally clamp your electrode holder on to.My problem is I use Bernard short stub electrode holders so I can't clamp to it. I was thinking maybe just get a short piece of welding lead and put a dinse connector on one end to plug into the welder and on the other end put a lug and use some washers and bolt it to the tig adapter. This would work but I am wondering if there is something that would be better.
Reply:Get a one piece Dinse adapter torch set up and be done with it. You can ask them to put a longer gas line on it and get a torch with a valve and you're good to go. Here's a basic kit. They sell them about any way you want. You can order online, or give them a call and they can set you up and answer any questions you have. I deal with Paul there. Always been knowledgable and very helpful. Sometimes getting someone on the phone is the easiest way to get it sorted.http://www.usaweld.com/Lincoln-TIG-T...05tigtorch.htmWhatever the case, skip the BS and get a CK torch with SuperFlex line on it. Best there is as far as line goes and their torches are top gear all the way.IMHO of courseExpert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:^^^ they make the connector and kits with much longer gas hoses. I can't stand those adapter y pieces, I can see how they could be handy on a remote weld when you've got a **** ton of lead all ready . like on a iron job.esab 260 multimasternew tech 150 invertorlincoln 140 cheapo
Reply:im in the exact same boat right now, need to find out whats out there for this... the hole in that unit is too big to just run a bolt thru and add an eyelet on the end of the welding cable... must be something better!
