Hellow, I have an older model Miller stick welder, I think it goes up to 250 Amp. Anyway, I noticed that it has a fan on the bottom side of it, but it seems no matter how long I weld, the fan never kicks on. Any ideas what would cause that? Should I be concerned and not use it anymore until I get the fan fixed?I've been thinking about just selling it and replacing it with a Century or Hobart welder (have been looking at the ones at http://www.findtoolsnow.com/Welding-Arc-Welders.html) Any opinions on those brands? Thanks!
Reply:I am not sure which model miller you have, but I will say that a century is not even in the same class as your miller. Check and make sure nothing is stopping the fan from turning, it could be that the motor that drives the fan is burnt out. My suggestions would be fix the fan and keep what ya got. Good luck ~JacksonI'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:redneckdeereguy, welcome to the forum! Your miller is way better than that century. Perhaps you never got it hot enough for the fan to come on?Other than that, what Hammack said. |
