Haw many have built them? I have hf solid stock bender works fine lbut I kneed to bend some Larger stuff. I've seen the plans on the web. My question is does any body know the angles for the main frame and swing arm frame? Do you have to harden the steel?Miller Dynasty 200dxLincoln power mig 255Travel and comercial A/O rigsCheap 7"x14" horizontal bandsaw2 14" abrasion sawsDrill press. Reply:No input? Anyone who owns one could you measure the angles on the main frame?Miller Dynasty 200dxLincoln power mig 255Travel and comercial A/O rigsCheap 7"x14" horizontal bandsaw2 14" abrasion sawsDrill press. Arsenal of grinders/die grindersPower tools Hand tools
Reply:When I head up to the shop tomorrow, I'll get the measurements for you. The angles really are not critical as they only serve to allow space for the tooling that runs inside their framework. Run the bends at 45 degrees and the spacing is easier to figure from there. As far as I remember, all the bends were simple offsets. Never hardened any of the frame that I made, but never did the immobile frame, just the swing arm and pieces for the hydraulic attachment.Lincoln PrecisionTig 275Miller 251Miller DialArc 250Bridgeport millHossfeld bender & diesLogan shaperJet 14 X 40 latheSouth Bend 9" 'C'Hypertherm 900Ellis 3000 band saw21"Royersford ExcelsiorTwo shops, still too many tools.
Reply:I was thinking that would be the case but still wanted an idea on angle. Much appreciated.
Reply:I don't understand your question.  I have 2 benders.  What angle?

Reply:I suppose I was concerned for no reason about angles. I have prints everything seems straight forward. That was bothering me and couldn't get my head around it for some reason. But here is a pic of the angles they do appear to be a 45 degree
Reply:Oh,  upon reading your post I was perceiving the angle/ relationship with the arm and main frame,  not the taper angles.  In the sketch it appears to rise 1-11/16 and with a guess/estimate/comparison scale at a run of 2-1/4 , thus the angle would be 34 degrees.
Reply:You should be able to pull your angles off that drawing easily enough, but a measuring tape and figuring rise & run off the bend worked better for me. My 20 ton shop press worked well for that angle you show. Just clamped the strap to the bed and double ViseGripped a large..maybe 3/4"...lathe bit to the strap where I wanted the bend to go and used the lathe bit as a bending point with the press ram.Lincoln PrecisionTig 275Miller 251Miller DialArc 250Bridgeport millHossfeld bender & diesLogan shaperJet 14 X 40 latheSouth Bend 9" 'C'Hypertherm 900Ellis 3000 band saw21"Royersford ExcelsiorTwo shops, still too many tools.
