wondering about Miller 210

Hi just wondering about this MILLERMATIC 210 MIG WELDER W/3035 SPOOLGUN 951006I thinking of buying in a few months depending on shipping charge's to oz Miller don't sell these machines over here and the there locally made machine do not have support for a spool gun and I like the idea ofGun-On-Demand I spoke to Millers top man over here today and he said if I import one over that the local Miller guys still have to Honor the  factory warranty so that was one thing out of the way would like the MILLERMATIC 251 & 30A SPOOLGUN MIG WELDER 951007 but its another $1300 but the minster of finance (wife ) might not like that so I'm just wondering about the 210 it will be used mainly for black money jobs (weekend work ) and mostly the thickest steel would be around 5/16 -3/8 and a bit of aluminum work up to 1/4 I know that miller says it will do these things but I would like to here from people who have or use these welders I know I could get a welder cheaper here but the single phase ones I've used here I don't think much of thanks guys Creative metal Creative metal Facebook
Reply:It is a great machine. 3/8 will be the upper single pass limit, and at about 20% duty cycle. The 251 would have a better range at the upper end, but the 210 will do it. I do it all with mine...short circuit, globular transfer, spray transfer with C-8 and alu. IMO, it is a very good unit. Lots have them and agree. As long as you don't push it too hard on the upper end, I see no reason why it wouldn't work well for you. BTW, it runs much better on .030 ...0.8mm, I believe? Lincoln's L-56 seems to be the hands down favorite wire for it.
Reply:BTW, the book says it needs 60hz...Is that what you have ? Or is it 50?
Reply:the 210 works awesome for me. I'm thinking of getting a spool gun too and my buddies at the welding store say that the 210 is a great machine for alum too. The gun on-demand is a great feature. i have my machine rigged so that it can hold two bottles, C-25 and argon. It's all about function and productivity.the thief of hearts     www.jamfab.com
Reply:i have had the 210 for about one year now. I named her vanessa. it is the best investment i made. I can weld 1/4 all day with no duty cycle. actually it has never duty cycles. and for 1/4 inch it is only on 4 out of 7. i think i paid 1250 at the local welding store and have not yet had a problem.
Reply:the MM210 is real pouler on th miller site and every one loves it. great all around MIG unit. quite a few keep .025 in the spool gun for sheet metal and .035 for every thing else in the main gun, the MM210 is realy nice on aluminum also and with the gun on demand it's like JMO said "its all bout function and productivity" all around great unit, its defenetly on my to get list. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
