Reply:Thanks to everyone who has submitted their info. I did delete the Seneca, SC row in the Responses Spreadsheet because the NAME of the LWS was not input. Please submit again with the NAME of the place. Please remember, this is to HELP people who are potentially wanting to buy welding gases. Of what good is it to those people if they see "LWS" in the name column? Thanks for your understanding. IF by some weird chance, the name of the LWS is actually "LWS", then I apologize and will re-insert that row. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:I was paying $40 for 150cf of Argon. The last refill went up to $62. They even tried to give me a bottle with a neck ring. It said customer owned but also had the name of there old bizness on it. My LWS sold out to PRAXAIR. Is PRAXAIR good or bad?

Reply:Do me a favor please.... I just added another entry and screwed up. Thought I checked C25 and in looking at it, I see my purchase is appearing as 100% argon. Everything else is correct. That just needs to be changed to C25. Sorry about that. --And when you have a spare moment, how do I filter results to see what others are paying in my state?MM 211Smith Tru Lite O/A set, Thanks Bob!Lincoln AC-225--But you must not change one thing, one pebble, one grain of sand, until you know what good and evil will follow on that act. Reply:Apparently my phone corrected austin to a austin a and there is no option for 60 cuft.
Reply:Purchased 80 cubic ft tank from Arc3 in Durham, NC for 155.92 and cost to fill with 100% argon was 13.16. I think the guy range me up wrong but not complaints from me!Added the fill cost to the sheet but no option to add just tank cost.
Reply:most places sell tanks already full, that's why there's no option. Never hear of anyone wanting to buy a tank of welding gas at the LWS, that was completely empty. What you can do is post the cost of the tank + gas in one entry, and then in another entry, post the cost of the refill only, even if you didn't actually buy the refill. Using subtraction, a decently intelligent individual would be able to figure out the raw cost of an empty tank if necessary for what ever reason. While there may not be an option for a 60 cuft'er, it is also not meant to be an all-inclusive list. Simply picking something close should get someone new who has no idea what is what, into the ballpark. It's not for me to know what you're buying for my purposes. It's to help others near your area who may want to see what to get where, and near what price. Oh, and I fixed the "Austin".Last edited by Oscar; 09-07-2016 at 08:21 PM. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:I just added entries for three of four cylinders I just had filled. I also have a 90CF tank and there's no place to enter it. Using the 80 CF line would cause a more than 10% pricing error....FWIW, all were filled at Carolina Carbonics and Hydrotest in Greensboro, NC. I own all my tanks, including the 280 and 320 CF ones. I didn't have issues getting them filled in Central NY where I used to live and where I did business with the same supplier for nearly 30 years. I did have some push-back at other suppliers on filling large customer owned cylinders here in NW NC after moving here last year as I've had them for years and don't have proof of ownership anymore. And all of them had to send the cylinders out to be filled. All my tanks needed testing and I had the three steel ones sandblasted and painted (The fourth tank is an aluminum oxygen tank). They charged $22 ea to test all the cylinders and $17 ea to sandblast and paint the steel cylinders. It seemed very fair to me. I had all four cylinders tested, three of them sandblasted and painted, all of them filled and one valve replaced for less than $300.Carolina Carbonics gave me no grief at all about my large cylinder, did all the work and filling in house and overall, it was a good professional experience. They get a from me....ThanksLance
Reply:Thanks. The more people constantly enter in their info the more comprehensive the list gets, even if you're paying the same price 1x per year or 50x per year, it all helps answer that all important question: what are you guys paying for XXXXX gas now a days? 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:How much are you guys paying to swap out a "B" bottle of acetylene? I've got some pipe sweating to do, and realized I need gas. Roberts Oxygen, which normally treats me pretty well, just quoted me a price of $48 to swap out a B bottle.Does that sound high to you, or am I just behind the times?
