esab powercut 650 help

I just bought a used Esab Powercut 650. The machine doesn't make an arc. When I pull the trigger, the air flow runs. I checked for a fault light and there is none. If I disconnect the air, the fault light will light, so I know the fault light works. Is it possible the consumables are just done? Is there a way to check if that is the only problem? Reply:It's a high freg start machine and no pilot arc. Get it close or touching the work piece to check for function.. Reply:Ok replaced the electrode and nozzle and still no arc when touching metal. The plunger has some black marks on it and in the torch where it go, is black under the seat.
