Hi all, I have an older airco torch set. I would like to buy some accessories and they are listed by style number.  I am looking for help in IDing the style number of my set. The numbers on my handle are 818 0700. The welding tip (brass part) says airco 5-10   8100781 and has a connecting diameter of about 7/8 vs 1 inch of another set I have. Cutting torch 85-000637. Thanks, LeeLee HurlbuttUpland [email protected]
Reply:Here's a link to a company called Concoa. http://concoa.com/cut_weld_catalog.htmlThey used to make all the torches for Airco when I worked there. I'm sure you can cross reference the numbers and find the accessories.
Reply:well lee, you're in luck. still have file cabinets full of past catalogs, slides, teaching aids, you name it, still at school, including full airco general purpose catalogs and gas catalogs. your torch is from an Aircomite light-duty welding & cutting outfit. the actual torch is a 'style 700' series and stock number 810-0781 is the number for the mixer. could not find anything close to your cutting number, you might want to recheck that and i'll check again. but according to their catalog, anything starting with the number 85 was for cutting tips. the cutting attachment for your torch is number 822-2490 (style 2400 cutting attachment with either 90 or 75 head) and uses style 112 cutting tips. tips to fit would be 811-9801, 9803, 9805 (for tip size #1, 3, 5), etc. your torch can fit tips from 00 to size 7.just let know what you need looked up for airco and i can help you out.johnjohnwelding instructorwww.williamrmoore.orgMooreTech College of Technologywelder/fabricatorJGWilson, Inc.www.jgwilson.com
Reply:Thanks much, this site is great. It looks like if I buy 70 style stuff it will fit. Would like to get a few more mixers so It will be quick to change tips. Cheers, LeeLee HurlbuttUpland [email protected]
Reply:Well this old post helped out quite a bit. I just picked up the same torch. I was looking to buy a 75 cf Acetylene cylinder and wound up with another 125cf O2 and this old torch. The cutting attachment has no identifiable numbers except for the tip; style 112 #1. The only welding tip that came with the outfit (got the regulators too) was a style 98 #1. The difference is my mixer reads Airco 1-10 8100781. I hooked up the regulators and checked for leaks. I cleaned both tips and tested them out. Nice little torch except for the adjustment screws. Very sensitive. Just need to spring load them somehow. I'm in the same boat you were in. I just need to get some additional tips and mixers. Also It'd be nice to replace some of the old o rings. Do they still make replacement soft parts?
Reply:JimDaddy, Wow, a post from the past. I got all new o rings from my local welding supply store.Lee HurlbuttUpland [email protected]

Reply:Great to see that everyone here got what they needed off of the CONCOA site.  I would als recommend that each of you download a PDF copy of the tip cutting guide available on the CONCOA site.  The direct link is: http://www.concoa.com/docs/ADIS/ADI%203870A.pdf.Take care!
