600-A uni-trode welding rod

I picked up a  rod holder full  of 1/8  600-A uni-trode welding rod from an Estate. I did a search online but did not find any information , has any one heard of this rod? what is it used for?thanks, Rob

Reply:Here is a picture of the 600-A  electrode,brown in color has an orange dot on the end .suppose it could be a marketing thing, rebadged  6013.also could predate the internet as mentioned . I looked at some of the 6013 that I have, some is blue ,some gray,  some brown .  welds similar to 6013, smells like 6013, didn't trap slag at low heat though. kind of brings back memories when I was a pup learning to weld.  definitely welds different than 6010, 6011 or 7018
