Hi all, I bought a used spoolmatic 1 4 pin to use with my white face millermatic 200. I finally got around to hooking it up and started to weld with it and the wire speed dial has no effect on the actual speed of the wire when turned. It just poors out of the gun at a high rate of speed. I checked the potentiometer and from what I can tell its working fine. I unsoldered and isolated it and ohmed it out. Ok, so to the internet I go. I read somewhere online the spoolmatics used a 36vdc drive motor. The gun I have has a 24vdc motor in it, the 24v is printed on the side of the motor. So maybe that's an issue right there. 2nd thing is, I have 33.4v going to the gun itself and when I press the trigger I have 44v coming out of the switch. Not sure what thats about. I'm not super electrical but I can generally follow logic. I've no history on the gun. I bought it out of state and the guy said it worked fine. I have my suspensions though on thT because the drive roller itself was flipped to the larger v side allowing the wire to slip so it fed out slower. Well, I flipped it so there wasn't any slippage and here we are. Any help and spoon feeding would be appreciated.
