Anybody have any info on this machine? Is it worth the $100 the guy is asking? I tried to research but didn't find much.

Reply:It would be sort of iffy at $100 bucks.   I would hold out and wait for a used AC/DC machine for a little more money.   If your a collector of old machines, it is interesting.

Reply:Hell, for $100 I'd buy it and put it in my living room!A few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:It's kind of a hybrid roundtop buzzbox with a movable shunt block vs a tapped transformer (like snoproe said).

I've only seen a few 200's; most of them were 180's.  https://www.lincolnelectric.com/asse...oln3/IM135.pdfHeck I'd have to buy the darn thing.

Reply:I've got a 180 that I started to restore, then lost interest in.  Hate to throw away a machine that is Copper wound!  I suspicion it would have a really SMOOTH Arc as it has a lot of steel and copper in it!  Maybe someday I'll finish it?
Reply:This is a long shot but I just picked up a Fleetwelder 200 and it pops my 100 amp breaker as soon as it's powered on.  Everything looks right for it's age, no melted stuff.  The documentation doesn't offer much in the way of troubleshooting or component measurement so I'm left wondering what the problem is.  The primary is not shorted to the core and visible wiring is not bare or touching metal parts.  So what is left to check?Lincoln TIG 200 Square WaveLincoln Pro MIG 175Lincoln Weld-Pak 100HDLincoln AC 225Lincoln fleetwelder 200Craftsman 245.2010_150A WelderForney C5Chicago Electric 90 Amp FC MIG (POS)Portable and shop O/A rigsHobart AirForce 400 Plasma Cutter

Reply:Error found, input line wiring to 35 uF caps got tied together in a moment of hurry and confusion - found and fixed.  Next was the Arc Striking Control Circuit, which did not seem to operate at all.  Did a little research on the original selenium rectifier stack on the net.  Diode measurements did not make sense for a bridge rectifier so I opted to replace the original stack with a ECG 5340 bridge rectifier (400V, 40 PIV) and the circuit now works!  Here is how it appears to function:  When the welder is on, the Delay Relay actuates, drawing in contacts that energize the Surge Reactor Coil (which couples to a lead from the primary coil core).  When you strike an arc, a higher surge current is provided at the stinger for a brief second to 'hot start' the arc, then the Pilot Relay actuates, which cuts voltage to the Delay Relay coil and the contacts release but set amperage is maintained as set by the Welding Current Control crank wheel/pointer setting.  Once you stop welding, the Delay Relay actuates again, waiting for another arc to be struck.  This circuit is also controlled by the Arc Striking Control Switch on the front center of the cover.  I believe this function is called Hot Start on newer machines.  So cool that they had this function way back in the 50's when this machine was manufactured.

Reply:Old thing is still in good shape. I would have had to pick that one up as well.
