Hello all,In a previous post a few made mention of pre-set pressure settings in various flow meters put out by different manufacturers. Some seem to suggest the better quality flow meters have lower preset values than the lower price/quality type. For example most Victor flow meters are preset @ 25psi. What is this and why does it matter?
Reply:It doesn't matter, as you suggest. You'd adjust the pressure (or flow) to give you the correct gas flow for what you're doing and under what conditions you're doing it. There's never going to be a single correct pressure or flow. That's just plain silly. I suppose in production they have to set the meter for something in order to check it to see if it's correct. 25 psi sounds like a nice number but it could as well be 22 psi or 12 for that matter. But they make it adjustable for the reason that you need to be able to set it to your requirements.
