So when running a Miller Big Blue 400 pro with a LN25 pro extreme using the fcaw-s setting I get a real high pitched noise while welding ( the polarity is as should be the ground is positive ) something doesnt seem or feel right. I dont get this sound while using Lincoln vantage 400. Any ideas?
Reply:my guess is, ur miller is more of an inverter being powered somehow from the eng., and ur lincoln probaably being more conventional/generator like. i dont have any modern/late model eng drive machines, but i hear the whistling noise when i use my in-house inverters, and dont hear it when i non inverter style machines. i also hear the whistle in stick mode as described. i highly doubt ur suspicion being lincoln or miller has anything to do w/ itLast edited by 123weld; 1 Day Ago at 12:19 PM.
Reply:I had a Miller Big Blue 400D and would run NR232 .068 with my LN25 and I though it was nice, no adjustments to arc on that machine. Then I got a Miller Pipe Pro 400 w/Cat, whole new game! With the arc adjustment from stiff to soft adjustments is real nice. We've done so much, for so long, with so little. Were now qualified to do anything with nothing !
Reply:May have something there. I have a 2017 Trailblazer & the Miller 12VS sings while welding with it., but I don't notice it when connected to the older Bobcat.
Reply:A lot of newer Millers have some sort or arc adjustment! We've done so much, for so long, with so little. Were now qualified to do anything with nothing !
