Over a year ago, I made myself a Harbor Freight tool chest welding cart conversion. It has been fantastic, so I'm making another one. The new one will hold my Lincoln PowerMIG 180C and my Hypertherm Powermax600. I think it's 600. I can't recall. It's a 40-amp job.I'm fabricating the bottle support now. I am trying to decide whether to set it up for two bottles or one. If I only use one, the restraint will have to be centered on the cart for balance. Right now, I'm planning to get an 80-cubic-foot tank of C25 to back up the 120 on my other cart, which holds my Chinese beauties: a Harbor Freight Titanium 200 Unlimited (MIG, stick, DC TIG) and an Alpha something or other 200 (AC/DC TIG, stick). I also have a 120 full of argon on that cart.I know I'll have a lot of C25, but I think the apocalypse has started, and I want to be able to MIG right up to the end. If the government somehow manages to create a welding gas shortage, I want to be ahead of most people. Is there some other gas I should have on hand? Nearly all of what I do is welding carbon steer with MIG, but I tell myself I will get the hang of TIG some day and do more aluminum. I don't really see myself fooling with crazy things like titanium. Cast iron is always a possibility. I managed to pull that off once with argon and stainless MIG wire.I have an oxy-propane rig, so that's covered.

Reply:If welding steel you may try fluxcore [E71T-11 0.030"] or [E71T-GS 0.030"] both are no gas wire.Works great 👍 it does need 3/8" to 1/2" of stick out for flux to work.Dave
