Hello, complete newbie on welding here. I would need for a project to butt-weld two very thin sheets of different metals (0.5 mm thickness at most), ideally without a filler material. Do you know if it is at all possible? I was thinking maybe ultrasonic welding could be a possibility.Thank you very much.
Reply:Ok I’m not up on the metric system we used 3/32 6013 on DC 45 amp on some replacement floor boards in a Chevy truck, would have been easier with the MiGRetired Old GuyHobart 210Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Evolution 14” Saw
Reply:AND.... how are the metals "different"???
Reply:That is 0.020" or 26gauge that hard to weld. Most would use tig. Dave
