Hello. I'm a novice welder making a table out of 3" steel square tube. I'm inquiring about a little advice on how to attach casters. Please note the photos are early stages. I know there's a bunch of prep work left. I like the ease of option 2, but I have concern about longevity and if a weld fails.Thank you.

Reply:Welding them on will work just fine, but if you have an issue with the casters, it's annoying to have to cut welds to replace them. Sent from my Lincoln Buzzbox using Tapatalk
Reply:i prefer bolt on for a more professional look but sometimes welding is more practical

Reply:I've done both, but given the time, I'd go with option #1.

1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig!

Reply:I've done both, but bolt on is better in case you have to replace one. Also the kind you can lock down to the floor to keep them from moving is nice too.
Reply:Bolted or welded, just make sure it's easy to replace in the future if need be. Get creative and make them adjustable for unlevel floors.Lincoln 330MPXLincoln Power Mig 256Lincoln LN-25X Wire FeederMagnum PRO 250LX GT Spool GunLincoln AC/DC 225¼ Ton of Torches OFC-A OFG-AAir Carbon Arc Gouging CAC-AEverlast 62i Plasma CutterIngersoll Rand T-30 14hpInstagram: #Freebird Welds
