Problem: Thread portion of this cast iron part, (I don't know how it functions), is broken in half.
Though about building it up with EZtig filler but wasn't sure how it would machine. Thought about nickel99 but it was discussed - not good to machine.So since you can weld steel to cast iron with EZtig I opted for a both.First I machined off the remaining threads on a 45 degree angle.
Next I put a couple of passes of EZtig on the 45. Stuff is kind of sluggish but it works.
From there I built it up with 70s2. I have repaired threads this way before and knew what to expect machining with HHS tools.Experience taught me when you think you have enough metal, add more! Last edited by metalman21; 9 Hours Ago at 06:33 PM.Ernie F.
