Reply:How long is a bit of string?Most people on domestic power get a 200-220 amp single phase AC/DC TIG set as it's very flexible and will allow you to weld up to 6mm/ 1/4" aluminium. If you need to do a lot of 1/4" or bigger, then you need a bigger machine.Do NOT kid yourself that DC TIG is good enough for everything... it's only any good when you KNOW you'll never need to weld aluminium.Murphy's Golden Rule: Whoever has the gold, makes the rules.
