I've wanted to try this for a while, I know it wasn't possible but it's another thing to see it first hand. Was interesting to see how it behaved and how brittle things were. I think I was even more surprised by what happened with MIG welding aluminum with C25 gas, was, energetic

Reply:Cool experiment! I believe the correct way (or one of the correct ways) is to aluminum braze weld the aluminum to the steel. The aluminum braze bonds with both, and supposedly a good joint can be made. Reply:Dupont used to or still does make flat bar strips which are steel on one side and aluminium on the other to join steel and aluminum for thing like aluminum superstructures on steel hulls in shipbuilding.

Reply:The first video can only be described as a ~ Complete Waste of Time!

The second has me wondering the application though. Obviously there's a need, I just can't think of what that need is....

Reply:Sorry, didn't realize that this was your vid...But,,,, what exactly was there to Learn? What did you find that was, in Any Way, unexpected???
