Ive always had a problem/wait on getting my clothes sewn/fixed. Carharts/bibs catching on fire, burning big holes and rips etc. I've used permatex gasket sealer halfway successfylly. Recently found out about "tear mender". It's still quite new to me and still expirminting, but form what i can see, the stuff is absolute dynomite. it might even rank right there jb weld, but for clothes (to soon to tell). supposedly works on canvas/leather etc i think i read, anyway, thought i'd share it, or maybe everyone already knows, and ive been in the dark all this time . its sorta like spreading elmers glue on a patch, and stick it on - drys super fast and flexible - A+https://www.tearmender.com/Last edited by 123weld; 3 Weeks Ago at 07:32 PM.

Reply:It works well on patches, and rips. I have used it on overalls the most. It isn't always the prettiest repair, but functional. It worked on my Sorel's too, fixed the rips in the leather from when my oldest son borrowed them to go quad riding(10 years ago). After a few repairs, my wife will throw things out, saying "You're not gonna wear these are you ?" For work clothes, it works just fine. What makes it a good repair is that it is flexible, and washable, much better than 2-part epoxy.I think the reason the show it being used that way is to get the idea across that you have to work it into the fabric to get the most strength from it. You need to break the surface tension so it can grip well. I wouldn't really trust it to re-attach the rear pockets on a pair of Levi's or carhartts, or a belt loop. I learned about this stuff about 25 years ago from Baileys Logging Supply in N. California. Tree work can be just a rough on clothes, and boots, as welding. Just in different ways.

My local Tractor Supply Store carries it now : https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...z?cm_vc=-10005Airco 250 ac/dc Heliwelder Square waveMiller Synchrowave 180 sdMiller Econo Twin HFLincoln 210 MPDayton 225 ac/dcVictor torchesSnap-On YA-212Lotos Cut60DPrimeweld 225 ac/dcPrimeweld mig180Miller AEAD-200
