Hi havent used my helmet in a couple years since finishing my last project and went to use it after it was stored in bag , I get no display and super brite when I strike the mig to weld. I measured the battery voltage and both were 2.4 and 2.5 volts , is it just the batteries that are dead?LynnMillermatic 211

Reply:I have two of these hoods and they don;t like to sit for long periods, they will kill batteries. I always take the batteries out of the one I don't use much, because 2 months without use will kill the batteries on it. Other than that, they're great hoods, and if used weekly or daily the batteries will last no problem. Very strange.Murphy's Golden Rule: Whoever has the gold, makes the rules.

Reply:I have a esab sentinel a40 and I leave it in the open so it gets some light and it has worked for years. I always keep a pair of spare batteries just in case though.
