I run a 1 man weld shop in SW Florida and I get the best customers... Usually with a story, I was a a Navy Seal or welder but left all my equipment up north!  Today a dude comes in and wants me to weld up some little part.  He's talking about being a boiler then he tells me he was a welder @ Area 51.  I asked him "is this really something you should be talking about"? He continues to tell me it was deep under ground and that he had no idea what he was welding on.  Also he'd have to drive like 100 miles to the area,  then proceeded to say when he was finished "they" would hypnotize the workers, so they would forget.   I think he could tell by my blank stare I wasn't buying it.  Can anyone share what protocol would be of working at such a place? It seemed like a good idea at the time!
Reply:I have heard similar stories from people that I have met work in the same place.. One guy ran cabling for the nukes that they would test out in the desert in Nevada.Sent from my SM-G975U1 using TapatalkLincoln 175Monkey Wards 230v.  Stick

Reply:I wonder how many folk forgot where then worked after being hypnotized.  Did folk sign up knowing the would be hypnotized each day?The folk I've met. Conversation goes.... "There is some crazy stuff out there" then silence. End of conversation.
Reply:One thing I know from personal experience is that there is one flight in and one flight out each week.  Sent from my SM-G975U1 using TapatalkLincoln 175Monkey Wards 230v.  Stick
Reply:I happened to get to know a fellow who had set up the machine shop at SRI. Among other hobbies (he also had an underground shooting range), he had built some narrow gauge railroad cars [machining and welding involved] which he took up to the Ponytracks Ranch where Jacques Littlefield had the property surrounded by tracks; below is an invitation to one of the meets there. But back to the threads theme; It seems one of the tasks he occasionally did was machining the fissionable core for atomic weapons. For one job he wasn't given the current blue print so he machined it the same as the previous job; it came back needing a modification, and once done, he had to accompany the core to the Nevada site where it was then assembled and tested. He never mentioned anything about hypnosis, and seemed to remember and recount these details quite well. I remember where he lived, but have forgotten his name; he's been dead for decades. From: https://bcwrr.org/2010/100424-Portola-invitational.pdf
