I picked up two Dynasty 400 TIGRunner welders from a welding instructor who has embraced parenthood over side-work after moving to a house without a workshop. Because he doesn't have a workshop anymore, I wasn't able to test them out before buying them, but a pipefitter I know vouched for him, so I'm not too worried. They've been in storage for about a year I think. Now I have two welders (with carts, coolers, and AC line cords) but no accessories. I've ordered a stinger and ground cable that are supposed to come today. I put a 6-50P plug on one of the units and plugged it in, and it powered right up. I updated the software with an SD card without issues. I grabbed the manuals online based on the serial numbers. What should I do to test/inspect/clean the units? I'm planning on doing some stick welding once I have the supplies, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should do before I make sparks. I'm working on getting a TIG torch and supplies, but that's probably a little ways off.Should I replace the coolant in the coolers? The seller says he uses Miller's antifreeze coolant, so that's what's currently in there, but it's been sitting for a while.Should I open them up and inspect for any issues? Are there any parts (capacitors?) that I should inspect or preemptively replace?Anything else I should be aware of?
Reply:Them are quite the units for Joe Hometime.  Drive em like you stole them.www.urkafarms.com

Do not open them up, these aren't like syncrowaves, there's not going to be much of anything that you can fix or replace. DO NOT preemptively replace anything until you identify a problem first. Blow them out with a little compressed air as per the owner's manual, and fire them up.
