Miller 12rc Suitcase Feeder Replace Wire Tensioner

Hello all, I am trying to replace the wire tensioner in my suitcase feeder. It had stripped off. I got the new pin on threaded tensioner that flips up and down but am having trouble getting the dowel pin out of the old assembly. Does the whole drive assembly have to come put to punch the pin out thru the back? Has anyone ever fixed one of these?? Reply:This one may be slightly different,  on mine I can't see the other side of the dowel pin hole. But this one looks like you can punch the dowel pin Straight thru? Reply:You'll need to use a hammer and appropriately sized punch to drive out that roll pin.I've not worked on that exact thing but have remove a lot of roll pins.My fear is that if you do not remove the assembly from the welder so that you can get some kindof backup behind it you run the risk of breaking something!

Hopefully someone that has experience will chime in.
Reply:Steel in aluinum like that is a pain.  It has rusted in and almost seized to the aluminum.  For something like that delicate where you could break the aluminum ears off i would cut the tensioner rod out and cut the roll pin in half with any cutoff tool i have, Dremel, air cutoff, or grinder.  Then i would lightly heat the aluminum with a small propane torch and try to drive out the individual peices lightly with a way to support the ears if at all possible.
