Picked up A Weldanpower 225 G7 7000 W welder generator with a Briggs & Stratton 16 hp opposing engine for a pretty good deal sitting on a trailer. When I had went to look at it in person they didnt have any welding leads but it had a brand new battery, fired right up no hesitation and I made sure at the least before 120 outlets work as they did. Brought it home changed out the fluids because the gas that was in it was horrible. Went through the intake and carburetor blah blah blah. Put it all back together and once again it fired up and it sounded a lot better while running. All that time I had it switched to high idle so I switched it over to the auto idle and it kind of surged a little bit like it wanted to go down but then just stayed pinned out on full throttle. So I went through the governor linkage I didnt mess with it too much just made sure it was pretty cleaned up nothing was causing it to get stuck or anything like that. I dont know how to adjust it and I do notice when switched to auto idle or high idle The electromagnet keeps wanting to pull the plate closer to it causing it to idle down or should cause a idle down but it just stays pinned at full idle. All the springs seem fine, it does NOT have a tachometer so have no idea what rpms are at when at high idle. But when i push the plate to the electro magnet it idles down and purrs like a kitten, except when I let go it will hit high idle then the magnet will pull the plate again and level out at high idle again. So Ive looked through numerous threads on here and I could be totally wrong but from what it seems like my idle board im hoping seems fine as I stated electromagnet wants to pull it. So once again I could be wrong but could it just need to be tuned in? If so could somebody further assist me on this and what steps or next? Or could I maybe assume that the toggle switch shorted out and is bad? Like I said I havent messed with it too much but now when I start it up which I have only done about five times just doing a little tiny things to see if it would fix the idle but now when its started at high Idle and switched to auto there is absolutely no difference from what I can hear and the RPMs or the electromagnet pulling the plate back any further than it already does.In conclusion Im about to lose my mind with this thing! And I would really appreciate any and all input to get this thing tuned in as I have a job coming up in late February and have my fingers crossed I will be able to use this machine at that job. Thank you so much if youve read this far and More so are concerned as much as I am or even half as much as I am haha as to why and what the problem is. Once again any and all input is highly appreciated!Last edited by Kado; 9 Hours Ago at 06:32 PM. |
