Working on a project where I need to remove the black outer housing of a clutch to change a fit up. I didnt know where to post this, so I was wondering how I should go about this, as the nut on the inside is welded on or something. I was wondering if just cutting off the housing all together would work. Thanks.

Reply:The bearing in a riding mower electric clutch fails often. The assembly is staked in a manner that it is designed to be tossed, and replaced.Rather than replace the entire clutch assembly, the mower guys have figured out how to grind away the stakes, and re-stake after the bearing is replaced. This may be a similar item, considered disposable,, Check YouTube,, for the answer,, I do not know what the item is for,, so I can not search,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Reply:Could be that by pressing on the pinion end the clutch drum and bearing comes out the rear. |
