Hi,I hope you will know exactly what I am talking about when I describe this. As I am tig welding (aluminum), i see a very bright reflection, (i guess) of the weld puddle inside the helmet. It almost seems like it is coming from my chest under the helmet or from the inside side of the helmet. I happened to steal a glance and of course dipped the tungsten, but it is quite distracting. It doesn't seem to be flashing me so it must be something else.Any ideas?
Reply:I am wearing a grey sweatshirt. A miller digital elite. The whole reflection thing is just weird.
Reply:Could be bright shiney metal reflection? Or something you are wearing? Are tou sure your hood is activating?

Reply:Try wearing a black shirt, see if it makes a difference.
Reply:Some helmets, at least the better ones, have an adjustment to set the lens distance from your face. Try reducing that distance if it applies.
Reply:Try putting a towel over the back of your head to close off the hood from reflection from behind you,Mike
Reply:I used leather ATTACH to the hood. It work great for sprakes too.Dave

Reply:Closing the back of the hood should work, but you're looking for reflections from objects behind and/or off to a side.

Reply:this helmet doesn't have that cool feature, but I do have a 2.50+ diopter lens I think, and I have to be a certain distance for focus but that never effected my welding before....
Reply:Dark hoodie, no issue. |
