What would I need to use a air cooled tig setup with my XMT 304? How do you control the gas on/off?Thanks
Reply:Weldtech 17V or 17FV tig torch, a flowmeter and hose to reach from the bottle to the torch hose, and the appropriate connection lug. The torch has the gas valve built in. Need gas turn it on and turn it off when you finish welding. That rigup will work with any dc-cc power supply but you will be limited to scratch start. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:Old post, but can the XMT350 gas valve kit be added to a XMT304?https://store.cyberweld.com/miller-x...oaAhjqEALw_wcBIf the answer is no, next question:  Does anyone make an external valve kit that powers off the back of the machine?  I've prefer to not crank a valve on the torch."There are two types of people in America - those who try to classify everyone into two types and those who don't."
Reply:I added a Miller HF-251 box to mine that gives it Hi Freq start and also contains a gas valve solenoid in it.  That is one was to do it. It only need standard 120V power.I don't have an answer to your other question.-DaveXMT304 with: 22A Feeder, or HF251 Hi Freq DC TIG air cooled
