Hi, Does anyone have information to how the thickness (diameter) of the (dc) tig-tungsten electrode relates to:1. the welding current (amps)2. the thickness of the metal to be welded. The metal in my focus is plain sheet steel, not galvanised, as used in older cars (guess about 1,2 mm/1.6 mm/2.0 mm). Thanks, oldwelderman
Reply:For any given tungsten diameter there is a max amps that can be successfully usedFor a given material thickness there is a range of amps that will successfully weld it, depending on material (part) configuration
