I recently spun another part in the saw, and I've been determined to set the vise up to handle small parts.  I know there's a lot of ideas out there,, but I really like this one, and intend to do the same.
Reply:Wrapping a wrap or 2 of duct tape does wonders on short pieces. I use scraps or 1-2-3 blocks and shims if needed to block the opposite side of the vise.
Reply:I use another piece of the same or similar size stock at the far end of the vise.-DaveXMT304 with: 22A Feeder, or HF251 Hi Freq DC TIG air cooled
Reply:I keep a piece if 6" pipe (split in half) next to my saw.  Simple.
