So it looks as if the chappie that owned the big AstroMig 110 before me had the gas line out and when he installed it again, he bypassed a little sheet metal loop in the casing required to keep the plastic line away from the welder gubbins.  It melted.  My weld really degraded as I was working and I stopped to hear a hissing in the machine.  So, can the nylon (??)  gas line be repaired to any level of efficiency?  I was thinking of perhaps a "melt the ends, stick them together" type of repair.  I can't see there being barbed fittings that small.  Perhaps rerun a new line is the answer.  Where would a guy get it?  Probably pretty exclusive to a welding supplier.Thanks.
Reply:Compression union, it's probably polyethylene or polypropylene tubing, they also make plastic (NYLON) fittings for it. Measure, rmove/cut off a short piece & buy the appropriate union & put it back together.Last edited by CAVEMANN; 10 Hours Ago at 05:32 PM.IMPEACH BIDEN!NRA LIFE MEMBERUNITWELD 175 AMP 3 IN1 DCMIDSTATES 300 AMP AC MACHINEGOD HELP AMERICA!"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
Reply:Perhaps some heat shrink after some type solvent weld?  No sure what actual material you are dealing with.
Reply:A picture's worth a thousand words. If we had any idea what gas line you are referring to we might be able to advise you. Some dimensions would help too. Or maybe I'm the only person here who doesn't own an AstroMig 110.

Reply:OK, 5/32 OD line, nylon unless I miss my guess.  I like the heat shrink idea after I have affected a good repair if I can.  I'm thinking this little machine doesn't actually have a solenoid rather a simple valve in the brass block in the handle?

Reply:Your local truck shop should have 5/32" quick couple union connectors for repairing Roadranger transmission air lines... I do. Make a clean square cut and push the line into the connector until it stops.
