Hi, I have a Miller 211 autoset (transformer type). Im trying to fix a gate made out of galvanized pipe and chain link fence. I've been doing some practice welds on extra pipe I have and the welds are coming out like cr@p. I've sanded off the galavanized coating to the bare metal. My welds seem to be sitting on top of the pipe. If i turn up the voltage I'm burning holes into it. The galvanized pipe is 16 or 14ga. I've tried using Hobart and Lincoln flux core wire. The machine is setup up to use DCEN. Any suggestions?
