Greetings, I mostly do small fab's and some non structural repairs around the garage. It's time to replace my Eastwood  MIG welding and I'm looking at a Lincoln PRO-MIG 180 that has a input power rating of 208/230/1/60. My garage is wired for 110 and a 220.Can I use this Lincoln welder on the 110 & 220 or, should I stay away from this welder.Dan
Reply:i would get that one if is supported  and consumables by local welding supply house.  over use it when you first get it to see if its a good one and works for your needs.   better to find out if you like it sooner than later.  definitely get one that haS variable or infinite controls.  you can fine tune it into your welding needs.  just one opinion!welcome to the webb!lincoln 125spdayton 250 ac/dcmiller 211 w/spool gunahp  200 sx tiglotos ltp5000dkubota b3200 FEL BHof course duramax diesel
Reply:Looks like a nice machine but need to be sure it will run on my 220 30 amp service in the garage. To check to see if a local place will service it was a good idea. I have a call in now just waiting for a call back.If they will repair it I'll get it.
Reply:Would it be difficult to rewire for a 50 amp circuit ? A higher amp machine will provide a greater duty at lower amp use. Using a lower amp machine maxed out reduces duty cycle. Just saying. The machine you listed is a box store machine and only 220 volt. Lincoln has a Dual Voltage machine, power MIG 180. I would buy from local supplier and get a tank of 75/25 as a package deal. Check on the Miller Machine too. The 211 mig is a great machine too.Again, I would definitely buy from local supplier and see what they have to offer .https://bakersgas.com/products/linco...welder-k3018-2Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:Ed, I'm sorry for the late, really late reply. Things got busy and I forgot about this post.I ended up buying a Millermatic 211 and what a machine. Doesn't come close to the Eastwood machine. I'm a self taught welder with help from these forums and UTube. Anyway, I thought the Eastwood would be a good machine to learn on something, you know, like training wheels and it was good for that. But this Millermatic far outshines the Eastwood, in safety alone.Well, I have this Miller machine and I have the Eastwood aluminum welding torch and I'm wondering if I can use it one the Millermatic 211. I'm thinking not and I haven't tried it so would you agree, the Eastwood aluminum weld torch lead can't be used in the Millermatic 211?
Reply:Millermatic 211 inverter requires a calibration procedure to fine-tune the WFS setting to the motor-speed.  I doubt it would work with the Eastwood spoolgun if it were to even fit in the receptacle.
