weight of handrail

Just a quick question for all of you rail makers.  I made a rail out of all solid stock.  I weighed it and comes in around 55Lbs.  My question is do you think if I core drill 2" holes 4" deep will it be sturdy enough.  End posts are 1 " square.  The steps are only about 3 years old.
Reply:If its concrete no dramas .Also the 4" is in concrete not including tiles etcA good guess is better than a bad measurement

Reply:Thank you for the replies.  Yes, it will be in 4" of concrete, no tile.  SweetMK, I think you have an excellent suggestion.
Reply:Also, it would be better if you can tie one end to a wall or if you put a small return section at 90*. Reply:SweetMK brings up a good point I didn't mention.Deforming the leg so that it does not come up vertically. A much greater concern in things like polished SS tube than solid square stock , but still a step.Does not have to be any thing too radical , but options depending on type of leg include.A simple welded stip/ strips.Hitting tube with a hammer at bottom.Drilling a hole Drilling a hole and putting in a boltLocalised bending of legA good guess is better than a bad measurement
