Does anyone have and ideas on where to look for a job if i only know how to weld? I am a beginner mig welder. My new job let me go after working for them for 2 and a half weeks. Reason was for lack of fabrication skills, they said i can weld that was not the problem but that i couldn't fabricate. I tried working at an autobody rust repair shop. The previous employer i was working at prior to this, i worked on nuclear submarines for 8 months. I don't know which types of shop and places to look for. The employer who let me go was actually very nice he wasn't mad just said there is no place for me there cause i don't have all the necessary skills to work there, but he recommend like truck repair places he said places like that do mostly welding not so much fabricating. Im not looking for anything specific i down to work anywhere, im looking for more private places or places with  less than 100 employees because of the new recent covid mandates.Ive looked on online job searches and they mostly only list all large corporations.Trained InGMAW 2G (Horizontal)FCAW 3G Vertical and 4G OverheadSMAW 3G Vertical and 4G OverheadGMAW(Pulse) 3G Vertical and 4G OverheadGTAW (INTRO)Carbon Arc Gouging (INTRO)Weld Symbols (INTRO)Distrotion ControlOxy/Fuel Cutting (INTRO)
Reply:Use yellow pages and then shoe leather or gasoline and drive to each place and apply. Note: This time is harder to find work outside of retail. The best time to find work is February to June.Good LuckDave
