Hi, just wondering about tig welding with a fan or an vacuum/ fume exhaust mechanism, will doing so with a decent bit of wind flowing mess with the argon gas protection layer? I ask because I have a small workspace that I cannot stink up with weld fumes, as it is a communal space. I plan to point a fan at what I weld to push it out the open door that is close by. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
Reply:A fan will certainly have an affect on your gas flow to the puddle. An exhaust above would be better as long as its not extremeSent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Reply:Positive pressure on mig or tig is a bad idea. Negative pressure is the way to pull the gasses out. Welding fume extractors work off of negative pressure.Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |
