I recently purchased a Forcecut 62i to operate using my Ranger 225 as a power source. When I received the machine the owners manual and air hose were not included in the box. Longevity emailed me the manual and after a trip to the hardware store I was able to get air plumbed into the unit. I did some test cuts on 3/16 angle and it seemed to cut fine. I put the machine away in my garage and didn't have cause to use it for a couple of months. When I tried to use it this month the arc wouldn't stay lit. The air is set at 90 psi going to the machine as directed by Longevity Tech support and at 4.5 on the machine. I've tried adjusting the amperage on the machine and the arc still goes out when I start the cut. I've been in contact with Longevity by email and the last thing I was told was to plug it into a wall outlet to see if it still wouldn't stay lit. WTF I made it clear to the Longevity sales rep that I didn't have 220 wired in my garage and he told me that the Ranger 225 would be more than adequate to run the 62i. Simon told me on Monday that he would call the next morning and I have yet to hear from him. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Reply:As mentioned in your email, the reason we requested you try a 220v outlet to see if it remains lit is to determine if your Ranger 225 is providing enough power for the machine or if the generator powersource is interfering in any way. As you know we test all machines prior to shipping. If the unit is working the same way from a 220v outlet, then it could be a problem with the machine or torch. You can go ahead and ship it in for testing, but we will not be powering it off a Ranger 225, but an outlet like the one we suggested for you to test. Please email [email protected] for further assistance and see if you are able to locate a 220v power source. If you cannot, call in to our office for an RMA. You will speak with our warranty department and they will guide you in regards to having the machine tested at our facility. I am afraid though that it will work fine on our end and we will find no problem from a 220v power source coming from the wall.As far as pressure, back down the pressure to 70-80psi, and also check the consumables. However, I highly feel that your Ranger 225 is not providing suitable power for the 62i. If that is the case you may need to downgrade to a 42i, which draws less power, but can still sever 1 inch.Last edited by longevity-inc.com; 11-20-2014 at 11:31 PM.LONGEVITYPhone: 877-566-4462
