Reply:I have one that HF left with me when I did product testing for them. It is a pretty amazing little mig welder. Fully synergic of manual if you wish. Only issue I had with it so far was welding 5/16" plates to 3/16" canopy tubes. The fiberglass in the nozzles crap out fairly fast at full amps. But replacements are on the shelf at any HF store. The one I have does not have the fast wire feed button in the cabinet. That was one of the little discoveries during product testing found. The wire if not sensing a ground in short order goes into stall mode for safety reasons. Loading a new roll took forever. They all have that overide button next to the drive motor now.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR"

Reply:Not saying I'm ready to buy one, parts and repair would be a concern. I would probably buy the 2 year extended warrantee. Thats 3 years total, if it breaks, take it back and exchange it for a new one. I figure if it lasts 3 years, its likely to be pretty well made.Home tinkerer and old tool junkie
Reply:When buy a welder in past I use 5 day for 30 years with out braking .I not want to use any warranty ever Dave

Reply:The HF has 3X the power. Yes. The Hobart wont put ot more than 90 or so on a 110 circuit. It depends. If you need a dual volt 200 portable that will last  go get the Hobart 210
Reply:Actually it is almost twice as much to get a Lincoln or Miller (comparing the OmniPro 220 to the Miller 215).  I got the OmniPro and have been pleasantly surprised with the quality and what I have been able to do with it.  So far I do not regret any part of the purchase.
Reply:Has anybody figured out what style gun connection the 215 uses, or what style consumables?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Reply:There's been a number of reviews by members on this board that you can search for as well as one by AvE on his youtube channel. I have not seen anyone have any real knocks on this welder, except for the usual FUD ("where are you going to get parts in 5 years....") which seems like a 'Yeah , but' kind of argument. AvE did a tear down in his video, like he does for a lot of tools, and declared this welder "mighty skookum" and " a sore dick deal....you can't beat it". Of interest, AvE recently added the HF Protig 200 to his arsenal and he had good things to say about that welder as well. Long story short, use the search button and form your own opinion. I think this welder is a reasonable choice, but its your money.Miller Multimatic 255
