HF new welder lineup.

See for yourself. Could be a rumour idk, but if its true, that would be CRAZY. Seems to be a mid-range with the vulcan being pro and the CE being the basic crap thing and the "Titanium" as an avg between the two.

Reply:Just got the new HF flyer in the mail, their new welders are green. Don't know how good they'll be.
Reply:Ha. We all know one thing. If it messes up, you better have a warranty. Then you can only buy a warranty for so many years. No parts or service department. You might or might not find a part or hack online to fix it. If they had parts and service like the big boys, then I might see paying that much for those or the Vulcans. I could never shake that thought. They are basically throw away welders like everything else from Harbor Freight. Yea they "might" be alright welders, but I bought a good one (Hobart) to start with. Anything else I've bought from there, if it breaks, then I tell myself "I only paid" so much for it and basically expected it to break from day one and don't feel as bad about it.Its funny how they dont "price compare" with their own alternate brands such as the welding helmets. If you price compare the CE helmets and the Vulcan helmet with the specs, then the CE beats the Vuclan at less than 1/2 the price IMO. Don't you see they need me to work in their marketing department.


Reply:Take this with a grain of salt, but I had the same concerns that you raise about being able to get parts to repair out of warranty Vulcan welders and I contacted HF to have them provide some information.  I ended up speaking with the director of customer service and he told me that HF can order replacement boards/parts for those welders.  He said they do not keep them in stock and would have to order them (from China I assume) and the typical time to get them would be around 6-7 weeks.   For what it is worth, that is what I was told.

Reply:Now I see why they came out with this line.  I just looked over the  new monthly catalog I got a couple of day's ago and the prices on the Vulcan's seem to have jumped up suddenly.  As a matter of fact of lot of prices have gone up.  Looks like the tariffs are taking their toll.
