I just got a sungold power inverter off amazon. Couldn't get some forney rods to strike. Wondering if vulcan rods are easy to learn one and are decent. What are good "training rods" 6013?

Reply:Vulcan 7018 electrodes are okay, they can be pretty hard to strike but they are great to learn on, just scrape off the flux at the end. Then once you get some Lincoln fleetweld 7018 you will see a huge difference.
Reply:The Vulcan rods always seem kind of pricey to me. I’d get some Hobarts from TSC to practice with.My "collection":Homemade Stick WelderVictor O/A TorchAC 225Ideal Arc 250HF 90 Amp Flux CoreHF Mig 170Solar 2020 Plasma CutterPower i-Mig 140EHarris O/A torchHF Dual Mig 131140STAlpha Tig 200x

Reply:Lincoln rods have been proven in the industry for over 50 years. That's good enough for me. Just get 1/8'' in either 6010, 6011 ,or 6013. And if you want 7018 get 3/32.
